Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)

Unlike a Fibre to the Cabinet connection – where data makes the last leg of its journey from the street-side green cabinet to your home through a copper cable – with an FTTP connection, data travels all the way from the exchange to your building via fibre optic. The speed you get won’t be affected by the length of the cable as it would be with copper, resulting in a steadier, more reliable connection.

FTTP provides a fast and steady connection for small businesses that don’t transfer large amounts of data nor rely on 24 x 365 connectivity. FTTP is a dedicated internet line that delivers a broadband connection to business premises but it doesn’t run over a traditional PSTN (public switched telephone network) phone line. So, you no longer need to make two orders to have phone and broadband, one for PSTN and then a separate broadband order.

With download speeds of 76Mbps and uploads of 19Mbps, smaller businesses can comfortably use VoIP and cloud applications alongside usual browsing and streaming.
