Outlook hyperlink issues
Posted on 14 July 2023 by Beaming SupportWhen opening hyperlinks within Outlook, some users are noticing that the links are consistently opening in Edge – even if the default browser is set to Chrome, for example.
This is a change deliberately implemented by Microsoft, but there is a way to change back to always opening links using your default browser, in your settings.
The way to resolve this is to follow the below:
1. Click ‘File’ in the top left of Outlook.
2. Click ‘Options’ in the bottom left.
3. Click ‘Advanced’ in the menu that appears.
4. Locate the option ‘Open Hyperlinks from Outlook in:’ and change it from ‘Microsoft Edge’ to ‘Default Browser’.
